I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't on sale. Some are obvious ideas, not many new.
I never thought of marking ballons. This book is excellent in giving ideas and showing how to implement them.

Balloon faces is really written and illustrated with love and humor. It's such a novel and cheap way to amuse children. This book is a good resource for making different characters and using a child's imagination. Lots of pictures and lots of captions - easy to read and follow.
I can't draw stick figures, but this book, which I bought for a young family member, showed me tips about proportion/scale that even I can make use of! The author provides very handy how-to tips and lots of step-by-step examples for drawing various faces (surprised, happy, laughing, bored, curious, and even animal faces) on balloons. She also provides "practice" balloons for readers next to her examples. This book will be my go-to gift for young friends and family from now on.
I am a teacher and we had so much fun with this book in my classroom. Instead of balloons, I got out an ink pad and sharpies. The kids made about 10 thumbprints each and happily decorated them with expressions from the book. I felt like a real art teacher showing them basic composition. We had a blast!
