Six months after we last met Carter Reece and Isaac Brannigan, they're still very much in love. Moving in together, moving forward, life for these two is great until some life changing events occur. Isaac has a frightening setback and Carter's world starts to unravel. Things become even more complicated and start to change for both men when Isaac’s new colleague enters the picture.
As Isaac struggles for what he really wants, it might just cost him what he needs the most.

Just like the first book in the series, this is a sweet love story. It's overly sweet but not as saccharin as the first.Carter and Isaac have been together a year now. The story pics up about 9 months after the first book. The writeup for this says 6 months, but Isaac's sister has her baby at the first of the book and she just found out she was pregnant at the end of the last one, so...
Anyway, the plot here involves whether to move in together or not. Something that is hard to think about too hard happens that make them decide to live together.
Almost immediately, Isaac's new co-worker Joshua comes into the picture. He's clearly up to no good. Isaac doesn't see it (no pun intended).
Joshua works to drive a wedge between the main characters, while working an angle with a pie in the sky idea.
I have to say that when the inevitable argument happens between the two leads...the things Isaac says to Carter, I don't care how much Carter loves him, I was rooting for him to walk away and never speak to Isaac again.
But we knew that wouldn't happen.
Is it really necessary for someone to BEG every time they have sex?

Through These Eyes Blind Faith Series Book 2 edition by NR Walker Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
All I can say is wow!!!! Ok, I can say more than that, but that sums it all up!
I thought book one would be hard to beat but boy was I wrong. I was on such a roller coaster ride I did not want to get off. I laughed, I cried (lots). You should have seen me blubbering at work like a baby when I was at lunch hehe. It was so good, I didn't care if anyone saw.
This was book 2 of the series and continues where book 1 ended. Can not be read as a stand alone. Single pov. The only thing that would have made this better is if it had been multi pov. This book does have a hea.
Great story line, awesome characters I could not help but fall in love with, great description to detail. All in all, a fantastic read.
Would I recommend this book? Yes!!!!
Would I read more from this author? Yes
Sassy Beta Reading & Review
Another good sequel by N.R. Walker, who expands on her characters' personalities and limits in Book 2. I often found myself wondering about their dynamic, especially as Isaac suffers blow after blow, which manifests through his mood and behaviour towards others.
I found it hard to read the criticism towards my country - unfair conclusions were made on our health system and medical standards, and Carter's description of an Argentinian doctor being a "South American butcher" proved both ignorant and racist. I don't know how much research went into this but it seemed overly dramatic and a stereotype.
Hmmm, where to begin... SOME SPOILERS!
This takes place around a year into Issac and Carters relationship... All seems to be good, Carter spends a few nights a week at Issacs and they seem to get more in love than ever... however, what he desperately wants is to move in with Issac, he never wants to be without him, he loves him so much, he's endlessly patient and understanding, I love that about him. Especially when Issac doesn't deserve it and booooy does he not in this one.
Issac gets a scare from a break-in where some things were taken from his home, someone that saw him taking the bus and preyed on him because of his disability. Then Josh comes in the picture, someone who works with Issac, I gotta tell ya, I can't stand the catty crap Josh pulled and I hated that Issac couldn't see it (no pun intended) and he didn't believe Carter when he voiced his concerns... heck he didn't believe anyone. He was desperate for what Josh was offering... it caused some dissension and a lot of grief between the two.
I'll say another thing, Carter is extremly forgiving, I'm not sure after the way Issac behaved, the things he said to Carter and the way he treated him... not only about the Josh thing but anytime he disagree'd with Carter, he treated him awful, he said the most hurtful things and... I dunno, I don't think I'd be able to forgive as easily as Carter did...
Another thing I didn't care for, was Josh getting away with all his conning. I absolutely can not stand when bad people don't get the karmatic justice they deserve and in this one, Josh needed a healthy dose of karma for all the drama he inflicted and all the people he helped scam... ugh... makes me sick to think about real people doing stuff like this everyday and you know it happens and so many get away with it.... Makes me wonder how those people can live with themselves....
Either way, I enjoyed the story on the in-between times, I enjoy Carter and Issacs banter, you gotta love Mark, he's hilarious and charming and disgusting all in one lol I'm glad Carter had him, and Hannah and Carlos as well...
I'm very much looking forward to reading more about Mark... I hope he finds him a nice guy to settle down with. <3
As with Blind Faith, Isaac frustrates me a LOT in this book (he is worthy, he isn't worthy, maybe Carter's better off without me, maybe I'm better off without him). New 'friendships', miscommunications, and a chance for a miracle get in the way of their happiness. All in all, it's a good story and as with all of her books that I have read, it's very well written.
While there is a third book in the series, this is the last one with Isaac and Carter as the MCs. It was a nice ending to their story.
